Time to Run Again

Hello, Hello everyone! I have a question for all of you our there… What is it that brings you sanity, happiness, or joy even?! You know that thing that makes you feel like you again after you have cooked and cleaned and worked all day for your family.  For me that “thing” is RUNNING. It helps clear my mind and get my thoughts together. Its normally the only time i have about 30 minutes to myself! Running is my time to decompress and get away for a minute. As moms (and dads) I think it is very important for us to make time for ourselves. Maybe not everyday but once or twice a week should do the trick.

In the past I became a relatively good runner. I have ran in several 5k’s, 10k’s, and 3 ( YES 3!) Half marathons. I even finished those half marathons with finishing times under 2 1/2 hours! Unfortunately, due to a crazy family and work schedule, I have fallen off the track this past year. I hate it because running is something that I am very passionate about and I am finding it hard to find the motivation to get up and get outside!.

Luckily, my amazing girlfriend Kathleen, informed me about a new running club, in our area, that she planned to join. It is called the Run Mob Running Club. They meet every Saturday morning in different areas around town to keep the scenery new and different! They even send out weekly newsletters to help keep everyone motivated and on track. I swear it is the answer to my prayers. I am just so excited to be apart of this group, and I get to do it with one of my best girlfriends and fellow mama! My goal (with the help of from all of you) is to one day run a full marathon. I plan on starting out small though and running my first 5k ,in about a year, the Hurricane Run on Saturday September 8 on Dauphin Island. The hope is to work my way up to the First Light half marathon in January here in Mobile! I will keep track of my races and workouts here as well as on my facebook and instagram accounts. Saturday 7/14/18 will run with Kathleen 1.50 miles
