SO! Last week turned out to be amazing fitness week for me. I managed to work 5 ( YES 5) work outs into my week! I was able to run 3 times, walk once, and strength train once. I am just going to say I a super proud of myself for that!
My Goals for this week are:
Monday: Strength train ( Bodies by Amy) 30 minutes
Tuesday: 2 mile Run/walk ( I like intervals)
Thursday: strength train ( Bodies by Amy) 30 mins
Friday: run 2 miles
Saturday: 3 mile run ( alone or with my running group)
Now, that I am in a better workout routine, I want to start to dedicate some time on my diet. You have heard the old saying “You can’t out work a bad diet!”. I have decided that the best way to do this is by ordering a book off Amazon called The Kid Friendly ADHD and Autism Cookbook: The ultimate Guide to the Gluten-Free and Casin-Free Diet. Written by Pamela J. Compart M.D. and Dana Laake, M.S., L.D.N. The reason for this book in particular is because this diet is supposed to amazing for kids on the spectrum ( its in the title! HAHA!) like Sean and I figure it full a great nutrition advice that would be great for the whole family as well.
There is a lot of research going on concerning diet and Autism. There are some that believe you can completely cure a child of autism just by changing their diet. Me personally, I do not believe that Autism is something that can be cured because it is not a disease or virus. However, I do feel that food is something that can help build up one’s body from your brain all the way to your bowels. ( TMI I know but its the truth!) Many kids with ASD have all of issues in all areas of their bodies.
With that being said, I want to give Sean and Charlotte the best foods I can to help them grow and learn to their greatest potential! I can not wait to get this cookbook in the mail!! Please tell me what your goals are or if you have any questions for me put them in the comments below.
